BBPH was founded in 2022 by editor Heather Epp and author Aren Morris, both of whom saw the need for a safe space in Atlantic Canada for female identifying storytellers to hone their skills and pursue publication.

Heather Epp

Meet co-founder and editorial director, Heather Epp. Heather has been on the publishing scene since 2016, working with local publishers such as Bouton d’or Acadie, DBDLI and Formac Lorimer Books.

Heather spends her time connecting with the people around her through swing dancing, music, theatre, travelling, cooking/eating, and of course, reading.

Aren Morris

Meet co-founder, acquisitions editor and artistic director, Aren Morris. She’s also our first author!

In addition to writing, Aren is an educator, theatre maker and gatherer of creative folk.
