BBPH was founded in 2022 by editor Heather Epp and author Aren Morris, both of whom saw the need for a safe space in Atlantic Canada for female identifying storytellers to hone their skills and pursue publication.

Aren Morris

Meet co-founder, co-publisher, acquisitions editor and artistic director, Aren Morris. She's also our first author!

In addition, Aren is an educator, theatre maker and gatherer of creative folk.

Heather Epp

Heather Epp is the co-founder and emeritus editorial director. Heather has been on the publishing scene since 2016, working with local publishers such as Bouton d’or Acadie, DBDLI and Formac Lorimer Books.

In 2024 she stepped back from BBPH to prioritize her maternity leave. She continues to work with local publishers and cheer on BBPH from the sidelines.
